If you haven't already done so, please review the material in the Getting Started Section.

For Day 1, we will cover the three intentful corrections. How we start sets the mood and tone for our practice.

There is a Chinese saying, "Leave late. Arrive early." When applied to qigong, it means that we get more out of our practice by taking some time to make adjustments before we begin.

Please take some time to decide where you will practice: a place you feel safe and will not be disturbed or startled during your practice. Hopefully, a place that feels like a sanctuary.

When you arrive in your practice area, decide to begin, and leave all else behind. Make each practice a gift to yourself. Enjoy it fully.

Pay attention to your mind, body, and breath.

Let your mind be clear and focused on just one thing: what you are doing in your practice.

Adjust your posture: feet a comfortable distance apart, knees slightly bent, weight slightly sunk. Float your head as if it is being suspended from a string. As your head floats up, your spine should also straighten and lengthen, creating more space between the vertebrae.

Breath in deeper. Exhale slower.

These are changes you can make right now too, regardless of where you are or what you are doing to bring this practice into your daily life.

Practice

See you at Day Two.
